About the Role

The UAS Services Project Manager manages multi-functional aspects of Volatus Unmanned Services’ Services and Technology implementations at client sites across the US. As a Project Manager, you will work to facilitate, manage, and execute projects with external clients and internal teams. You will coordinate with multiple teams internally (Flight Operations, Data Services, Sales, Hardware, and Software to perform project planning and oversight to ensure completion on schedule, scope, and budget.

As a UAS Services Project Manager, you will directly interface with Volatus Unmanned Services sales team, Volatus Unmanned Services client POC, our national pilot contractor partners, and data processing vendors. Your services will include everything relating to UAS project planning, logistics, scheduling, document management, (generating flight plans, pilot work orders, correspondence, etc.,) responding to reciprocal data dump transfers (i.e., drone data from the field transfer to our cloud and drone data from our cloud to our processing partners and clients). Organizing client file data structure, drafting monthly UAS activity reports, and participation/key involvement in client kick-off meetings, working groups, and conferences when needed.

The UAS Services Project Manager will also provide UAS project review support (i.e., national airspace vetting, task tracking and oversight, data entry, and internal pilot data deliverable quality control. The ideal candidate will have prior UAS experience as well as technical writing, records management, design capabilities, and high attention to detail. Travel is not currently planned for this position, but opportunities will be available for on-the-job training and/or experience building.

The UAS Services Project Manager will identify issues, offer solutions, and monitor progress. Communication with various departments, such as sales teams, marketing teams, and leadership, both internal and external, is paramount.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in monitoring the performance and QA of RPIC pilot partners.
  • Assists RPICs in the field with difficult project situations and advises solutions.
  • Coordinate with sales, technical teams, and clients to identify the specific project requirements and deliverables.
  • Work closely with project team members to ensure full understanding of the scope, priorities, and deadlines.
  • Create project plans, track deadlines and report status to the respective stakeholders.
  • Assist with time and resource management throughout the project planning and execution. 
  • Help resolve challenges and elevate to leadership where needed.
  • Function as primary point of contact for the client for an assigned project and establish timeline expectations for reporting on project milestones and updates.
  • Plan and lead all project meetings.
  • Set up and conduct resource tracking for an assigned project. 
  • Oversee the development and delivery of all reporting materials for the client: data outputs, analytical summary report, etc.
  • Advocate, encourage and coordinate “lessons learned” and exchange and information transfer within the operations team.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and future market conditions, customer base, and industry trends.

Qualifications

  • Part 107 Remote Operator Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of 14 CFR Part 107 regulations, airspace, and LAANC system.
  • College degree (Associates, Bachelors, or Masters) in science, engineering, or administration
  • Experience with a wide range of sensors, including Lidar, EO/IR cameras, and multi/hyperspectral.
  • Experience with DroneDeploy, PIX4D, UgCS, and other photogrammetry software.
  • Experience with DJI and Autel Enterprise Platforms.
  • Familiarity with Google Earth, Google apps, and UAV piloting apps.
  • Technical and specification writing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven ability to complete projects and programs according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline under minimal supervision.
